every girl loves a sharp dressed man...

My sweet, drooling, handsome man now weighs 50lbs. He can crush a large rawhide bone is just a few hours. He can jump 4feet straight up in the air like a spring to catch a beloved toy.

And just two days ago he proved a leash is an annoyance when on our evening walk a pack of deer ran across the road in front of us and I was half a second from eating the asphalt; from the pain in my neck I wasn't sure having a tight grip on the leash was a good thing.
I've been thanking the doggy gods that he hasn't reached the 65lbs that vet predicted, or heaven forbid 85 lbs like his daddy; sweet jesus I'd be in traction.

p.s. between the time I gave him that bone, took these pics, uploaded them, and wrote this post, he chewed that rawhide in half, not even an hour...gawd...

New

Fresh new spring wild flowers; I love their dainty cuteness.

And our bluebird couple is busy building a new nest. I love Spring.

Guess What # 9 Revealed

Wow, I was surprised by all the guesses on this one. Dale got it. It was a close up of the light bulb in my mega flashlight for puppy duty at night. Try as I might I couldn't get it without a reflection of myself; good thing I looked decent huh...

Duo

I'm totally in love with this bluebird duo. They now show up daily looking for breakfast and dinner. The male watches to see when we put the worms out and you can hear him call to the female to come eat. I love listening to them chatter and sing back and forth to each other.

Gotta love Virginia weather

Thursday was beautiful, sunny, high 70's with a late rain. Then Friday near freezing with a bizarre winter mix of rain, sleet and snow...

If you don't like the weather today, just wait till tomorrow; it will always be different. They don't say this about Virginia for nothing...

6 am ~ Deja vu

I overslept until 6am. I expected Walker to be literally bouncing to get out of his crate. I stood there watching him, waiting to see him bounce, but he just lay there watching me. When I saw him I remembered this particular 6am morning; Deja vu...

As soon as I took the photo though my boy was bouncing...

Held hostage by ducks...

Leaving for work this morning I had to stop and wait for the duck crossing parade. It's happened several times with the geese and the ducks; but this morning was almost hilarious...

we all go for it...

hmm, I'm not sure...
ok, I change my mind...

oh no wait, we change our minds too...

oh no...that's not right we going back...

Ok, I think our parade is done...

I could have gotten out and "assisted" the crossing parade, but that wouldn't have been nearly as much fun. Over 5 minutes of funny, parading ducks and I still got to enjoy this...

SPC # 63 ~ Tools ~ Me and the World

The theme for Self Portrait Challenge this month is Online Tools.I was looking forward to this months theme, but honestly working on a dail-up with the online photo tool sites that I really wanted to use was a comeplete nightmare, and then some of the ones that did work I couldn't save the final pic to save my life; complete frustration...

but I did find Mosaic Generator and it's cool. It pulls photos from flickr.com to generate a mosiac of the photo you upload. I tried it out with several old photos of myself to see the results and I loved everyone one of them. I discovered by blowing up the photo to see the the images that composed my photo was a crazy mix, including some that were actual nudes of people, I was very surprised...

I love the thought of my image being mixed with hundreds/thousands of images of other people from all over the world, amazing...So this week, my photo is Me and the World...

Puppy Scare

We had our first puppy emergency today. On his daily walk today, bulldozing thru the woods like a bulldozer does, he either ran thru something or ran into a critter.

Steve saw that Walker's eye didn't look good, something was definitely wrong. On his drive to the vet's office Steve called me. I was immediately in panic mode. Several hours later with the vet and many phone calls determined it was a superficial scratch on his cornea. Treatment is eye ointment twice daily and he should be ok in about a week...

I hope this is the worst we ever have to go thru, it was stressful for Walker and us. Poor Walker looks pooped from all of the activity and injury...But he was still close enough to himself to chew a stick...that's my boy...

Flakes

I never really gave tree shedding much thought until a casual walk around the yard revealed many "flakes".

Sunshine how I missed you

I thought I might have a hard time adjusting to the time change, but with the above sixty degree weather for two days in a row and wonderful sunshine I didn't even notice.

It's just so nice getting home and the sun is still shining, man I missed that so much!

I even got to see the bluebirds feeding before the sun fully set. Hanging out and eating two days in a row; now the big question will be do they use the bluebird house to nest again this year...

BlueBirds

This morning we stood on the back patio, watching the birds and squirrels twitter about, drinking latte's and talking about our favorite bluebirds and hummingbirds possible return. Steve cleaned out the bluebird box. Barely five minutes after he finished cleaning it out we watched in amazement as a pair of Bluebirds showed up to inspect the house....

Now we're waiting anxiously to see if they decide to nest in it. I can't wait.
