Simple

An Inconvenient Truth If you haven't seen it yet, I urge you to...

Into the unknown

I've been watching my digital photos literally take over my puny 25GB laptop and praying it wouldn't die a sudden death on me. I tried moving photos to Cd's but with only 7MB to a CD that proved a daunting task I quickly became disgusted with. So I bite the bullet yesterday and went into BestBuy and begged for guidance. It's wonderful to walk into a store and have someone be able to help you with something you really have no clue about. I left with an 80GB portable hard drive.

Technology is amazing. I plugged it in, gave it some info, made some choices and let it get to work...Not even an hour later, my digital library was residing on this tiny little hard drive that fit into my palm. After several reassuring attempts to verify that yes indeed my photos were really on it, I hesitantly took the plunge and began purging nearly everything from the laptop...

Hitting that delete button made my stomach flip. I put all of my faith into that tiny little box and that it really would safeguard my photos no matter what once I hit that button.

I won't mention that actually free space that showed up on my laptop after that exercise; it's obscene....

I think I have a tiny crush on Will Ferrell

I've never been a huge fan of Will Ferrell, but last night that changed...we watched "Stranger than Fiction". A movie about the wonderfully, simple little things in life and getting out there and actually living your life.

We need more of these kind of movies..

SPC # 64 ~ Body

The theme for Self Portrait Challenge this month is "the body" I see some great portraits others are doing for this challenge; some very daring and beautful. I tried several different things but none were very comfortable to me...

Then I got to thinking about comfort. Right now comfort is my favorite pair of jeans. Several years old and holding up really well until a wonderful puppy entered my life.

Then the phase of mommy being a squeeky toy began. nipping, jumping up, rough housing. you name it my puppy and these jeans went thru it. Now those days are a memory and my jeans and I much more comfortable and comfortable with puppy. Hole in the knee. Snags all over the legs. So threadbare you can see light thru them. And no longer fit for public outings. But I love my knee peeking thru and I'm comfortable.

Addiction

ad·dic·tion - Pronunciation[uh-dik-shuhn]
–noun
the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.

Get between me and my quad shot epresso and you just might get to see some severe trauma....

{cough}Hello. My name is Trish and I'm a Starcracks junkie....

weather forecaster got it right

I had my doubts. But they predicted up to a couple of inches of snow overnight and by golly we got it...

Thank goodness it's fast melting as I type this. The only downside was it made for a messy dog by the end of his very long walk...

They moved it!

At the beginning of the week I took this pic, with the wonderful old house in it..
and then two days ago I noticed the house was gone!
How did I miss this? I'm really disappointed; I wanted to watch the move. Anyone know if they announced where the new resting spot is?

Everything that goes around, comes back around baby

Hot Air Balloon surprise

Yesterday morning I stepped out of Starbucks and saw this. It was my first hot air balloon sighting of the season. I thought it was miles down the road in a field taking off. I was thinking, those lucky ducks, it's a great morning for a ride.
I got a pic and drove down the street to work, then at the stoplight at work I saw this...I couldn't believe how close it looked.
I pulled into the complex and was greeted with a ballon right in the parking lot.Wow!

How freaking cool was that! I wanted to stay and watch. There was lots of other people watching it; but I was good and went into work thinking my boss might not think it was cool that I was spending my morning watching a balloon. But she got in and thought it was cool too. A little later I quickly took a peek and they were already gone, dang...It was pretty cool though
