Yes, that great American pastime we all love so dearly,
Mailbox Baseball is alive and thriving in these parts....
A survivor from the last inning...duct tape to the rescue.

One year ago today
I was being pulled from my truck after passing out while driving.
I can still remember the feeling the of confusion and shock when I woke up with the steering wheel in my lap that yes, "I was just in a car accident" as the paramedics lifted me to a stretcher. The pain was unreal. This past year has been so long and yet so quick. My body is still recovering. My right leg and ankle still aches on a regular basis. Don't ask me what I said yesterday, my memory is sketchy at best. And my body's internal balance is forever altered; I loose my balance far to easily doing simple tasks.
I loved my old truck like nobodies business. I still miss it terribly. When I was able to get another vehicle, I had my heart set on another truck, another Ford Escape. Rag on Ford all you want, I could care less. I'm now offically a Ford girl.
If I had been driving a smaller vehicle, possibly any other vehicle, I would probably not be here this very minute. The doctors were stunned at my condition, without a single broken bone. I was told that impact should have mangled and possibly killed me or at least turn my brain to mush. The Ford Escape is the safest small suv available.
That truck and my seatbelt saved my life. period. I'm grateful to be alive. I'm taking advantage of every new day. And I'm going to be driving a Ford Escape for the duration...
